As per G.O (Rt) No 45/09/Envt. Dated 27/06/2009, A new scheme entitled “BHOOMITHRASENA” has been started in this state under the state plan scheme for the colleges of the state for strengthening the commitments of students towards environmental protection.

Activities in the college

  1. Tree planting in our 125 Acre campus to achieve green campus.
  2. Conducting FDPs and other expert talks for environmental awareness.
  3. Maintaining a good garden in the college with help of our staff and students.
  4. Agriculture: A small vegetable garden.
  5. Celebration ( poster designing, expert talks etc.) in connection with important environmental days.
  6. Internal Green Audit in associated with Civil Engineering Department.
  7. Campus cleaning and continuous awareness on plastic pollution and waste management.

Activities outside campus

  1. River Protection (Bharathapuzha)
  2. Carbon neutral survey and its remedial measures in Akathethara Panchayath
  3. Nature camp for staff and students.
  4. Bird Watching
  5. Cleaning in the surrounding Colonies of our college in connection with important environmental days.

WILD LIFE AND FORESTRY CLUB

Wild life and forestry club of the institution has put its imprint in the minds of student community. Making the involvement of students for the noble causes, nature conservation and environmental protection is the main aim of Wild Life and Forestry club of the institution. The club of this college is organizing tours to various places of interest and is conducting pencil drawing, tree planting, essay competition, film shows etc. on relevant subjects. Presently there are nearly 75 active members and a staff in charge in the college.


NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

Dilshath Jabin M, Saranya P, Nivya T P and Sreekrishna A from NSS College of Engineering Palakkad won the first place in the presentation competition on the topic 'India without dowry: future we want' under APJKTU NSS CELL.

Sreekrishna A from NSS College of Engineering Palakkad won the third place in the quiz competition held as part of the Advaya Online Championship conducted by NSS Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, under APJAKTU NSS CELL.

Sreekrishna A from NSS College of Engineering Palakkad won the third place in the cartoon drawing competition held as part of the Advaya Online Championship organized by NSS Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Barton under APJAKTU NSS CELL.

NSS NSSCE extend their warm congratulations to Kavya Ramesh and Alok Vyas for their selection to the NSS State Level Integration camp to represent the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.

National Service Scheme under the University of Calicut was introduced in the college during the academic year 1972-1973. With the formation of National Service Scheme Technical cell under the Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala, N.S.S unit of the college was put under the technical cell form the academic year 1988-1989 onwards. A second unit was also started during this period. The aim of the N.S.S is “Education Through Community Service”. The overall objective of the N.S.S is educational. Service to the community is the activity through which this objective is sought to be attained. The more specific objectives of the National Service Scheme are to arouse the student's social conscience and to provide him with the opportunity -

Participation in the N.S.S is voluntary. Department of Technical Education will award a certificate to the volunteer for the participation in N.S.S provided if he/she completes 240 hrs of regular N.S.S work and attends a special camp with minimum of 10 days duration. During the last 29 years of N.S.S activities of the college, various programmes were sufficiently completed with the active participation of the volunteers. Some of the important programmes were, construction of ESP type latrines for the poor, free tuition classes for school going children, tapioca cultivation and free distribution, formation of rural citizens forum, National saving scheme, Voluntary readership training programme, health and family education programme, special nutrition feeding centre for 200 children below the age of six, plantation of seedlings, free medical check-up camp, traffic education training programme, adult education programme, blood donation, cancer awareness programme, drug abuse prevention programme, literacy programme, AIDS awareness programme, career guidance programme and art and literacy programme.


SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS

The Society of Automotive Engineers India or SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. The SAE Collegiate Club NSSCE under SAEINDIA, started out on 27 th July 2019, and aims to provide practical exposure to students interested in the automotive and transport industry. The Club has been very active since its inception and has conducted many events within the campus. It has also sent teams to the inter college competition under SAEINDIA SOUTHERN SECTION. The Club has had wide participation since the beginning and had about 100+ members in its formation. Within a year of its inception, SAE Collegiate Club has had professionals from Siemens, Ashok Leyland, Hero Motocorp , KAMCO etc. The talks by these eminent professionals from industry from major companies is a notable feature of the club.

The various activities under the SAE Collegiate Club are:

* Talks by experts and professionals from the industry.
* Workshops to give hands on learning experience
* Student Convention ,conducted annually, has a large number of events as per SAEINDIA guidel
* Has sent teams for competitions under SAEINDIA such as aero design, bicycle design etc. The club has conducted various events within NSSCE, which aims to give the student members an exposure to newer concepts within automotive industry. The club also has 2 technical advisors from the faculty of Mechanical Engineering department under whose guidance the SAE Collegiate Club plans its events . There has been enthusiastic participation from the student members in all events under SAE .

THE COLLEGE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY

With a view of encouraging habits of thrift and self-help in students and also to disseminate knowledge of co-operative principles among them, a Co-operative society has been established. Membership of the society is open to all students and members of the staff of the college. The society deals in all requirements of students including notebooks, textbooks, drawing materials and other stationery articles.

Committee for the prevention of discrimination against any community or category of students

As per the directions of the university grants commission and university of Calicut, the following college level committee is constituted for the prevention of discrimination against any community or category of students in the institution. If any students of this institution have any such complaints they are advised to hand over their complaints to any of the committee members or register their complaints in the register available with administrative assistant in the college office.
